Changes in Gramoxone Extra Formulation

Zeneca Ag. Products is changing the paraquat formulation. The current formulation contains 2.5 lb of paraquat per gallon and is sold as Gramoxone Extra. The labeled rate for Gramoxone Extra in most fruit crops is 2 to 3 pt/A. Once current stocks of Gramoxone Extra are used no more will be available. The new formulation is Gramoxone Max. It contains 3 lb of paraquat per gallon. Equivalent use rates for the new formulation will be 1.75 to 2.7 pt/A, slightly less than the old formulation. Please keep this in mind as the upcoming growing season begins. Especially since this is a new formulation, thoroughly review the label before application.
